Parmesan Twists

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup dairy sour creme
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme crushed
  • 1/4 cup dried oregano crushed
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried basil crushed
  • 1 egg yolk beaten with 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In medium bowl beat together Parmesan cheese and butter until fluffy
  3. Beat in sour cream
  4. In a small bowl combine flower with thyme, oregano, basil
  5. Beat flour mixture into cheese mixture
  6. Knead dough lightly and divide in half
  7. On a lightly floured surface roll out dough into two 12x6 rectangles
  8. Cut each rectangle into twenty-four 6"x1/2" strips
  9. Before separating strips brush with egg yolk/water mixture and sprinkle with sesame seeds
  10. Holding each strip by the ends, gently twist 2 or 3 times and place on baking sheet
  11. Bake twists at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown
  12. Remove and cool on wire rack
