Parmesan Twists
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup dairy sour creme
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme crushed
- 1/4 cup dried oregano crushed
- 1/8 teaspoon dried basil crushed
- 1 egg yolk beaten with 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- In medium bowl beat together Parmesan cheese and butter until fluffy
- Beat in sour cream
- In a small bowl combine flower with thyme, oregano, basil
- Beat flour mixture into cheese mixture
- Knead dough lightly and divide in half
- On a lightly floured surface roll out dough into two 12x6 rectangles
- Cut each rectangle into twenty-four 6"x1/2" strips
- Before separating strips brush with egg yolk/water mixture and sprinkle with sesame seeds
- Holding each strip by the ends, gently twist 2 or 3 times and place on baking sheet
- Bake twists at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown
- Remove and cool on wire rack
