Buttermilk-Cheese Biscuits
Ingredients
- 1 2/3 c flour
- 2 tsp baking flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 c shortening
- 1 c shredded cheddar cheese
- 3/4 c buttermilk
Instructions
- Combine first four ingredients.
- Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in cheese - add buttermilk. Stir only until dough clings together.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead lightly until easy to handle.
- Roll into 12" circle.
- Cut into 8 wedges.
- Begin at the wide end of wedge and roll to a point. Place biscuits point side down on greased pan.
- 450 degrees for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
