Pecan Tarts

Pecan Tarts

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Yield: 24 small or 17 large

Bake at 350 degrees

Ingredients

    Crust
  • 1 package (4 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 c all-purpose, sifted flour
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • Filling
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 T butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 c chopped pecans

Instructions

    Crust
  1. In a mixing bowl, cut butter and cheese into dry ingredients and shape into a ball
  2. Chill for 1 hour
  3. Roll the dough and cut out 1/8" thick with a doughnut cutter
  4. Filling
  5. For filling, beat the egg in a small mixing bowl
  6. Add brown sugar, butter and vanilla; mix well. Stir in pecans
  7. Spoon into shells and bake
