Janet’s Buttercream Icing
For medium consistency, add 1 more T of water or for thin consistency, add 2 T of water. For chocolate icing, add 3 oz melted bittersweet chocolate.
Ingredients
- 1 c crisco
- 2 sticks parkay margarine
- 2 tsp clear vanilla
- 4 T water
- 2 lb bag confectioners sugar (7 1/2 c = 2 pounds)
Instructions
- Cream together margarine and Crisco until creamy.
- Add vanilla and water and continue blending.
- Add confectioners sugar and stir with a rubber scraper to mix ingredients to avoid a mess when you turn the mixer back on.
- Turn mixer on low to blend the powdered sugar into shortening mixture.
