Abby & Tirzah’s Buttercream Icing

Ingredients

• 1c. solid white vegetable shortening (crisco)
• 1 tsp. Flavor (vanilla, almond or butter)
• 2 T. water
• 1 1b. pure cane confectioners' sugar (approximately 4 cups)
• 1 T. meringue powder (by wilton cake decorating supplies)
For Chocolate
• 3/4 c cocoa or 1 square semi-sweet chocolate melted
• 2 T water

Instructions

1. Cream shortening, flavoring and water. Add dry ingredients and mix on medium speed until all ingredients have been thoroughly mixed together. Blend an additional minute or so, until creamy.
