Soft Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks

Serving Size: 2 breadsticks

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 3 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix together flour, yeast, sugar, salt, Italian seasoning, garlic, 1/4 cup Parmesan, and softened butter.
  2. Stir together hot water, milk, and egg.
  3. Slowly add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and kneed for 30 seconds.
  4. Place dough in oiled bowl and turn to coat, let rise until doubled.
  5. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  6. Deflate dough and roll into a 10x12 inch rectangle.
  7. Slice dough lengthwise into 10 strips, then in half with a pizza cutter. (dough will bake together and be able to be pulled apart into individual breadsticks)
  8. Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan.
  9. Let rise until doubled again.
  10. Bake in oven for 18-23 minutes.
  11. Brush breadsticks with remaining butter and Parmesan and broil until the cheese begins to brown.
