Soft Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups bread flour
- 3 teaspoons yeast
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Mix together flour, yeast, sugar, salt, Italian seasoning, garlic, 1/4 cup Parmesan, and softened butter.
- Stir together hot water, milk, and egg.
- Slowly add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and kneed for 30 seconds.
- Place dough in oiled bowl and turn to coat, let rise until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Deflate dough and roll into a 10x12 inch rectangle.
- Slice dough lengthwise into 10 strips, then in half with a pizza cutter. (dough will bake together and be able to be pulled apart into individual breadsticks)
- Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan.
- Let rise until doubled again.
- Bake in oven for 18-23 minutes.
- Brush breadsticks with remaining butter and Parmesan and broil until the cheese begins to brown.
