Smoked Pecans & Almonds
Excellent, simple, delicious recipe. Try additional nuts. Wait for them to go on sale at Fleet Farm and stock up.
Ingredients
- 1 egg white or meringue powder
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cayenne
- 1 tbsp of margarine melted
- 1 pound almonds
- 12 oz. pecans
Instructions
- Combine dry ingredients with the melted margarine.
- Coat the nuts in egg white.
- Combing the dry ingredient paste and nuts. Mix thoroughly.
- Smoke at 200-250 for 2-3 hours or until the coating is hard. Be careful not to burn. They will begin to taste burned if on too long or too hot.
