Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. pasta
  • 1 c. cooked and cubed chicken breast
  • 1 c. cooked and cubed ham
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 8 oz. softened cream cheese
  • 2 T. dried minced onion
  • 2 c. shredded swiss cheese
  • salt
  • pepper
  • cayenne pepper
  • 1 c. bread crumbs (or panko)
  • 1/2 c.melted butter

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and add the pasta. Cook until al dente. Drain pasta, return to pot and add the chicken and ham.
  2. In a saucepan combine the milk, cream cheese, and minced onion. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until it becomes smooth. Stir into pasta mixture. Stir in the swiss cheese and season with salt, pepper and cayenne pepper (if desire.)
  3. Transfer pasta to a greased baking dish and top with crumbs. Pour melted butter over crumbs and bake at 350 for 15 minutes (or broil for 5 minutes.)
