Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. baking soda
- 1 t. sugar
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 t. garlic powder
- 1/4 t. cayenne pepper
- 4 oz. shredded sharp cheddar
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 475 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne powder. Stir in the cheddar cheese.
- In another bowl, stir together the buttermilk and melted butter until the butter forms small clumps.
- Add the buttermilk to the flour mixture and gently mix with a rubber spatula until a dough forms and no dry ingredients remain. Using a greased 1/4 c. scoop out portions of dough and place on lined baking sheet with about 1 inch between biscuits.
- Bake about 12 minutes or golden brown.
