Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sauce
Goes great on chicken and pork. Add two cloves of fresh garlic (pressed) Bottle the sauce and place it in refrigerator for 24 hours (Sauce is better the second day). Adjust the spice level with more or less Cayenne pepper and Chili Powder (This sauce has some kick)
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 small onion chopped, food processed or blended
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan melt the butter. Add the onion and cook for 7 to 10 minutes over medium heat.
- Add the rest of the ingredients. Stir them in and let them simmer over a low heat for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
