Golden Crescent Rolls
Ingredients
- .25 oz. active dry yeast (1 pkg)
- 1/3 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. white sugar
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. flour
- 2 T. butter, softened
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm water.
- Stir in sugar, salt, eggs, shortening, and 1 cup flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in remaining flour until smooth. Knead dough then let rise until doubled.
- Punch dough down. Divide in half. Roll each half into a 12 inch circle. Spread with butter and cut into 8 wedges with a pizza cutter. Roll up the wedges starting with the wide end.
- Bake on ungreased baking sheets at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
