Golden Crescent Rolls

Ingredients

  • .25 oz. active dry yeast (1 pkg)
  • 1/3 c. warm water
  • 1/4 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 T. butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Stir in sugar, salt, eggs, shortening, and 1 cup flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in remaining flour until smooth. Knead dough then let rise until doubled.
  3. Punch dough down. Divide in half. Roll each half into a 12 inch circle. Spread with butter and cut into 8 wedges with a pizza cutter. Roll up the wedges starting with the wide end.
  4. Bake on ungreased baking sheets at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
